You can thank the Grammy's for this one.

Chris Brown fans, get out now. I am completely disgusted after watching Chris Brown accept the award for Best R&B Album on the Grammy's last night. To add insult to injury (no pun intended) I also had to watch overenthused, underdressed tweens screaming and clawing at him during his performance! And THEN, my best friend Gia posted a link that had tweets of girls saying things like, "I'd let Chris Brown punch me in the face". LADIES YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! Because of your completely superficial and misguided support of Chris Brown, the man is still making albums and winning Grammy's. How about a little food for thought? Chris Brown pled GUILTY to a FELONY ASSAULT on Rihanna. He got a slap on the wrist and was allowed to continue to record his songs and the tiny little black spot on his reputation was miraculously wiped clean. Rihanna was the victim. She's the one who was beat by her boyfriend and has to live with that every day. His behavior and lack of consequences make us (Americans) look, in my opinion, like a bunch of savages. The fact that he won last night sends the message that we don't care what our celebrities do to break the law and hurt people they love, we will love them unconditionally. These are not pets or children, people!!!!!! These are icons for our children (and future children) and mentors for those who aspire to sing, play professional sports, act, etc. and we choose to look the other way and for what? To see them in concert again? To watch them play one more game? As if there isn't going to be someone better popping up in a month or two. I am appalled that he has remained blameless in the eyes of his fans.
Side note: I know that he probably lost a lot of fans; but clearly his career isn't suffering at all.
**If you want to post a comment, be my guest. But if you are going to justify his or YOUR actions, save it. And no petty arguments please.
